Capelle 1641 is an ensemble specializing in seventeenth-century music. Founded in 2021 in Santa Catarina, Brazil, it pursues an uncommon practice of artistic research in dialogue with research centers in Brazil and abroad. With musicological and organological approaches, it seeks to bring audiences a musical experience that is both alive and true to seventeenth-century poetics, sonorities and artistic perspectives. Through the work of its members in a range of research and performance settings, Capelle 1641 has been opening new paths for the interpretation of historical music.
